GAMBLING

Of late Jan has specialised in assisting both elite AFL players and others with their gambling addictions, with a track record of outstanding success in dealing with this difficult addiction. She has worked with AFL players and coaches from most AFL clubs.

She was previously featured in The Melbourne Age in an article on her work with David Schwarz, the former AFL football star, and his journey confronting his past and dealing with gambling and smoking issues. She was featured in David’s book about his life story entitled “All Bets Are Off”, including the following quote.

“Jan Beames is a very kind and understanding person, and she has played an incredible part in my recovery from all sorts of addictive behaviors, not just gambling. Her skills as a counselor have allowed me to deal properly with the death of my father and taught me how much Dad’s murder has affected my life.”

Then more recently, Jan was featured in former Hawthorn premiership player Brent Guerra’s published story on losing $400,000 on gambling.

Jan has an outstanding track record in working with gambling addictions including elite sports people (e.g., AFL footballers). For further information click on this link to an article in GQ Magazine.
